Talk Like That , the new single by The Presets is arguably the most infectious track on an album chock full of ambitious beat driven pop. The clip from directors Jonas & Francois is right here. The single is out now digitally with remixes by Jence, Dave Spoon, CFCF, Optimo (Espacio) and others. There are two versions of the single floating around, Standard and Deluxe--collect them all!

The Presets & Modular Clean Up At ARIA Awards

Every year, the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) holds a little event that goes by the name of the ARIA Awards, basically the equivalent of the Grammys here. This week, nominees across twenty-eight categories in the 2008 ARIA Awards were announced at a special industry gathering in Sydney. We are psyched to tell you that from the Modular family, The Presets received eight nominations, Cut Copy received two and Wolfmother have gotten one too.

Capping off an already mammoth year, The Presets took home awards for Best Artwork (Jonathan Zawada), Best Clip (Kris Moyes), Best Producers (Kim Moyes, Julian Hamilton) but unfortunately missed out on Best Engineer (Scott Horscroft). On top of that they've been nominated for Album Of The Year (Apocalypso), Single Of The Year (My People), Best Dance Album (Apocalypso) and Group Of The Year.

Cut Copy have also had a stellar twelve months and have been nominated for Best Dance Album (In Ghost Colours) and only just missed out the award for Best Artwork (Alter) which went to label mates The Presets.

Finally, Wolfmother were nominated for Best Music DVD (Please Experience).

The actual event rolls around on Sunday, 19 October at Acer Arena, Sydney Olympic Park and The Presets will be playing live. If you can’t be at Acer Arena, catch all the ARIA Awards action live on Network Ten, 7.30pm, Sunday October 19. It'll be on this date that we find out the final results.

The Presets are now the highest selling Australian artists of 2008.

Over Platinum and approaching 100,000 sales in Australia alone with their album 'Apocalypso'

A tense exercise in drama and lunacy, set atop a bed of haunting church organ and stuttering vocal sample, 'Talk Like That' is arguably the most infectious track on an album chock full of ambitious beat driven pop. The clip from directors Jonas and Francois (filmmakers behind Kanye West's 'The Good Life', Justice's 'D.A.N.C.E', Madonna and JT's '4 Minutes') takes the track up another level, embodying unhealthy obsession and hero worship within the desperate dance of a Carrie-esque rock chick, who excels in destroying an array of musical instruments before the altar of The Presets.

Since bursting onto the US scene with five back-to-back shows at SXSW in 2006, Australia's The Presets (Julian Hamilton and Kimberley Moyes) have become renowned as the crowned kings of demented Aussie pop techno.

Over an eighteen-month period they zigzagged with US four times over, with club dates, tours with The Rapture and Ladytron, appearances at SXSW, Miami Winter Music Conference, and even the Halloween opening party of CMJ Music Conference.

They also managed to punch out their killer live show at dozens of international festivals including Benecassim in Spain, the Brandenburg Gate (playing to 100,000 people) in Germany and the Big Day Out Festival, where they headlined the dance tent all around Down Under. Most recently they played as main support for Daft Punk for their Australian tour this December.

The last year has seen Julian and Kim distil the shows they've played, the experiences they've had, and the people they've met into the musical glue of their forthcoming sophomore release, "Apocalypso" (out May 13 on Modular Recordings).

Some may already know the album's taster single, the fuzzed out techno behemoth that "My People", however many other musical surprises abound, as the rest of the album will reveal all sorts of new and exciting sides to The Presets story.

Better still, lucky US and Canadian fans will be able to hear "Apocalypso" live right after album release, with the band announcing a headline tour beginning late May.
